Description

HURRAY I have a scanner now.
What I'm trying to do is apply what I've learned from each lesson. I kind of stopped though for now because my attempts on the other lessons pretty much failed.

This whole picture was done unreferenced HURRAY I'm a big boy now.
Critiques are welcome.

Okay, now you're cookin'. But this is no time to slack off. That's the difference between the boys and the men - not ability; commitment!

I can see your appreciation of form by the way the light molds the basic shapes into discernible forms. Also, by the way you work the shaded areas of each form to bring out distinct textures. You could push this farther on the stones in the wall.

I think your choice of lead is limiting you unnecessarily. A softer pencil, like 2B or 4B would let you hit the darks for more contrast. An alternative would be to start spotting with ink. Just do the darkest details of terminal edges, cores and caves with a touch of India ink.
